KOL Scanner

Overview​

KOL Scanner is a powerful analytics tool that allows you to track and analyze Key Opinion Leader (KOL) wallets on the Solana blockchain. Monitor trading patterns, profit/loss performance, and portfolio holdings of successful traders to gain insights into market movements and trading strategies.

1. Wallet Tracking​

  • Add Multiple KOL Wallets: Track an unlimited number of KOL wallets simultaneously
  • Curated KOL List: Access a pre-selected list of proven traders with emoji identifiers
  • Persistent Storage: Your tracked wallets are saved to your profile (requires login)
  • Quick Access: All tracked wallets appear in a convenient selector bar

2. Real-Time Analytics​

  • Portfolio Value: View total holdings value excluding SOL
  • P&L Tracking: Monitor profit and loss from recent trades
  • Win Rate Calculation: See success percentage across all trades
  • Transaction Count: Track total trading activity

3. Data Views​

Holdings Tab​

  • Current Portfolio: See all tokens currently held by the KOL
  • Token Details: View token symbols, quantities, and USD values
  • SOL Conversion: Automatic conversion showing SOL equivalent values
  • DexScreener Integration: Click any token to view detailed charts and data

Transactions Tab​

  • Trade History: View the last 20 transactions with timestamps
  • Buy/Sell Indicators: Clear visual markers for trade direction
  • Token Information: See token symbols and trade amounts
  • SOL Impact: Track SOL gained or spent per transaction
  • DEX Information: See which decentralized exchange was used
  • Transaction Links: Direct links to Solscan for transaction verification

P&L Tab​

  • Trade Performance: Detailed profit/loss for each token traded
  • Percentage Returns: See ROI percentage for each position
  • Sort Options:
    • By Profit: Highest profits first
    • By Time: Most recent interactions first
  • Position Status: See if KOL still holds remaining tokens
  • Trade Details: Buy/sell amounts and SOL values

Leaderboard Tab​

  • Time-based Performance: View stats for different time periods (7, 30, 90 days)
  • Comprehensive Metrics:
    • Total profit/loss
    • Win rate percentage
    • Trading volume
    • Win/loss count
    • Biggest win
    • Average hold time

Getting Started​

Adding Your First KOL​

  1. Click "Add KOL" button in the top right corner
  2. Search for a KOL by name in the spotlight-style search modal
  3. Select the KOL you want to track
  4. Automatic Loading: Data will load immediately and the wallet is saved to your profile

Authentication Requirements​

  • Login Required: You must be logged in to save KOL preferences
  • GitHub OAuth: Uses Supabase authentication with GitHub
  • Profile Persistence: Your tracked KOLs are saved across sessions

Using the Interface​

Wallet Management​

  • Switch Between KOLs: Click any wallet in the selector bar
  • Copy Addresses: Click the copy icon next to any wallet address
  • Remove KOLs: Click the trash icon to remove a KOL from your list
  • Visual Indicators:
    • Green dot: Saved to your profile
    • Wallet value: Shows total portfolio value

Data Refresh​

  • Manual Refresh: Click the refresh button to update data
  • Loading States: Spinner indicates data is being fetched
  • Error Handling: Clear error messages if data fails to load

  • Click Holdings: Opens token in DexScreener
  • Click Transaction Tokens: View token charts
  • Click P&L Cards: Analyze token performance

Copy Functions​

  • Wallet Addresses: One-click copy with visual confirmation
  • Success Indicator: Checkmark appears when copied

Advanced Features​

Search and Filter​

  • KOL Search: Real-time filtering as you type
  • Highlighted Matches: Already-added KOLs show with green background
  • Alerts Status: See which KOLs have alerts enabled

Performance Metrics​

  • Win Rate Calculation: (Winning Trades / Total Trades) 100
  • Total P&L: Sum of all completed trades
  • Portfolio Distribution: Visual breakdown of holdings

Time Analysis​

  • Trade Timing: "Just now", "5m ago", "2h ago", "3d ago"
  • Hold Duration: Average time positions are held
  • Transaction History: Full timestamp details

Understanding the Data​

Holdings Analysis​

  • Large Positions: May indicate high conviction trades
  • Diverse Portfolio: Shows risk management approach
  • Quick Exits: Empty holdings might indicate day trading

P&L Interpretation​

  • Green Profits: Successful trades with positive returns
  • Red Losses: Unsuccessful trades to learn from
  • Percentage Returns: More important than absolute SOL values
  • Remaining Holdings: Indicates partial exits or scaling strategies

Transaction Patterns​

  • Buy Clusters: Multiple buys might indicate accumulation
  • Quick Flips: Buy followed by immediate sell shows scalping
  • DEX Preference: Consistent DEX usage shows trading habits

Data Sources​

  • KolScan API: Real-time wallet data and analytics
  • DexScreener Integration: Token prices and chart access

Update Frequency​

  • Manual Refresh: Update data on demand
  • API Limits: Be mindful of refresh frequency
  • Cache Duration: Data freshness depends on API

Storage​

  • Supabase Database: User preferences stored securely
  • Local State: Temporary data during session
  • No Private Keys: Only public wallet addresses tracked

Troubleshooting​

Common Issues​

"Please log in to add KOL wallets"​

  • Solution: Click login and authenticate with GitHub
  • Requirement: Account needed to save preferences

No Data Loading​

  • Check: Internet connection
  • Try: Refresh button
  • Wait: API might be temporarily unavailable

Missing Transactions​

  • Note: Shows last 20 transactions only
  • Reason: Performance optimization
  • Alternative: Use Solscan link for full history

Empty States​

No Holdings​

  • Meaning: KOL has sold all positions
  • Action: Check P&L tab for recent exits

No P&L Data​

  • Meaning: No completed buy/sell cycles yet
  • Action: Check transactions for recent activity

No Leaderboard​

  • Meaning: Historical data not available
  • Action: Wait for more trading activity

Privacy & Security​

Data Handling​

  • Public Data Only: Uses only public blockchain data
  • No Private Keys: Never asks for or stores private keys
  • Secure Storage: User preferences encrypted in database

Limitations​

  • View Only: Cannot execute trades through this interface
  • Public Information: All data is publicly available on-chain
  • No Financial Advice: Tool for research only
